The American Austrian Foundation’s annual Music for Medicine Benefit took place on December 2, 2025, at the splendid Metropolitan Club in New York City. Dr. Wolfgang Aulitzky, CEO of the Open Medical Institute, was joined by Pablo Legorreta, who sits on the boards of both the AAF and OMI, to share updates from the OMI headquarters in Salzburg and the hubs in Mexico and Vietnam.
Guests were treated to an incredibly special concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s Sebastian Führlinger (viola), Bernhard Naoki Hedenborg (cello), and concertmaster Yamen Saadi (violin). Their performance included the Allegro from Schubert’s String Trio in B-flat Major, D. 471, and Beethoven’s complete String Trio in C Minor, Op. 9 No. 3.
Over two hundred guests attended the dinner, including AAF board members, OMI faculty and friends, as well as committed individuals from business, law, medicine, and public service. The benefit was a resounding success, having raised over USD 700,000 to date. All funds raised go towards the Salzburg Medical Seminars of the Open Medical Institute.
We extend our sincerest thanks to all our guests for spending the evening with us, and for believing in and investing in our mission to expand medical education beyond borders.
