Opera Camps at Schloss Arenberg
Young opera fans create and perform their own version of an opera in collaboration with the Salzburg Festival.
Opera Camps for Young Hearts
The American Austrian Foundation supports the next generation of opera fans with its opera camps. The camps are operated in collaboration with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, tak.tik and the Salzburg Festival for children and teenagers between the ages of 9 and 17 and held at Schloss Arenberg during the Salzburg Festival.
Over the course of one week the children create their unique version of an opera, that is being performed at the festival, in collaboration with music educators, theatre professionals, stage designers, and dancers. Other highlights of the week include attending a dress rehearsal at the festival as well as a backstage tour. The final performance of the children’s production is open to the public on the last day of the camp.
